FosteReprints Gift Fuels Kids Magazine Airlift
800 Needy Kids in Schools, Homeless & Domestic Violence Shelters will Receive Gift Subscriptions to Favorite Children’s Magazines

January 20, 2006 -- FosteReprints, a decades-long leader in the magazine reprint business has provided a generous financial gift to support the Kids Magazine Airlift, a program of the Magazine Publishers Family Literacy Project (MagazineLiteracy.org). The sponsorship will send yearlong magazine subscriptions from the Children’s Better Health Institute to schools, and homeless and domestic violence shelters serving underprivileged children. The grant will airlift magazines to 800 children, ages 2 - 12, and will include the popular CBHI titles: Turtle, Humpty Dumpty's, Children's Playmate, Jack and Jill, Child Life, Children's Digest, and U.S. Kids.

“We are happy to support the industry's outreach to children and families to share the joy of magazines and the pride that comes from learning to read. The Kids Magazine Airlift is a great vehicle to accomplish this task,” said Michelle Wolfe, Vice President Sales and Marketing.

“This most generous gift is a tremendous boost for the Kids Magazine Airlift, which got off the ground in October 2005 during Children’s Magazine Month,” said John Mennell, Founding Director of the Magazine Publishers Family Literacy Project. “The funds will not only enable the Airlift to put wonderful magazines in the hands of hundreds of children, but is a great example for others to follow so we can reach even more kids hungry to read. Few treasures brighten a child's eyes, smile and intellect like a magazine. Our mission is to connect generous sponsors, such as FosteReprints with teachers in schools and other community literacy agents in shelters and other programs that serve children in need, so they can enjoy magazines while learning to read,” he added.

The Kids Magazine Airlift is a unique national literacy program that works like a holiday food drive at a grocery store, but feeds kids hungry to read. Businesses and consumers shopping for gift magazines at web sites of participating publishers for their own children can also purchase a gift that will be sent to a school or shelter to help other children. The Magazine Publishers Family Literacy Project matches the much-needed gift subscriptions to schools, shelters and other community literacy programs that serve underprivileged children and families. The Children’s Better Health Institute is the first publishing partner of the program. The Airlift will be expanded to include other children’s magazine publishers in 2006.
