Q: What programs do FosteReprints support?
A: We have the most recent versions of the following programs.

• QuarkXPress® (Mac & PC)
• Adobe® PageMaker® (Mac & PC)
• Adobe® Illustrator® (Mac)
• Adobe® Photoshop® (Mac)
• Adobe® InDesign® (Mac & PC)
• Adobe® Acrobat® (In Production used for PDF's) (Mac)

Q: Can I send a file for an unsupported program?
A: Please ask your sales representative for information on other available but not supported programs. The best solution, however, is to save the file as a high resolution PDF.

Q: What do I need to send to FosteReprints in order for my job to run smoothly?
A: A File Ready For Output Contains:

1. All fonts used to produce the job.
2. Correct page size (same as final trim) with 1/8" bleeds when required.
3. All pages set up in one document as reader's spreads.
4. All scans saved as grayscale or CMYK in TIFF or EPS format.
5. All scans contain clipping paths where required.
6. All colors consistently named in drawing and page layout applications.
7. All spot colors consistently specified as process or PMS matches.
8. All files devoid of color management functions.
9. PDF's must be high resolution with spot colors converted to CMYK.
10. Dummy is supplied.

Q: What image formats will FosteReprints accept?
A: We accept the following formats:

• Photoshop or Illustrator files in EPS or Tiff format
• DCS 2 scans and HiRes PDF's.

Q: How will I receive my proofs for review?
A: FosteReprints offers many options in proofs. We can fax, email or mail a proof to you. You have the option to have a b/w or color laser mailed. We will also email a PDF proof for viewing on your computer. If you have more demanding color requirements, our Spectrum contract color proof would be the option to use.

Q: How do I send or transmit my files to FosteReprints?
A: To transfer electronically please use our FastEfile option. If for any reason FastEfile is unavailable we offer FTP and email options as well. Should you need to use FTP please contact your sales rep or CSR to set up an FTP account. For email all that is needed is your sales rep's or CSR's email address. We recommend that when transferring files electronically that all files be compressed in to a single file using either Stuffit Deluxe® (Mac) or PKZip® (Windows). If you choose to send files on disk, we accept Zip disks, Jaz Disks and CD's. For other media, in order to not delay your job, please contact your sales rep or CSR prior to sending your files.
